Support for caregivers of youth who have experienced trauma

training for parents, caregivers & families

The YMCA’s Building Bonds Program is a trauma-informed, early intervention initiative designed to support families navigating mental, emotional, and behavioral health challenges with their children. Grounded in the evidence-based practice Trust Based Relational Intervention®️, our program offers a four-module, multi-family group experience that empowers caregivers with tools to foster psychological safety, emotional regulation, and healthy attachment with their children.

join our community of practice!

Community of Practice (COP) is a monthly virtual support group designed for individuals who want continued connection and guidance after completing a Building Bonds training program. Reflect, share experiences, and learn alongside others who are applying Building Bonds principles in their caregiving and professional roles!

Who should attend:

This group is open to caregivers, care providers, and all individuals who have previously participated in a Building Bonds training and are seeking ongoing support.

what to expect:

Each session will offer a balance of learning, reflection, and peer discussion, including:

  • A brief welcome and overview of session goals (5 min)
  • Topic spotlight and discussion (20 min)
  • Open forum to share experiences, challenges, and solutions (25 min)
  • Key takeaways and a preview of the next session’s topic (10 min)

  • Frequency: Last Monday of each month
  • Time: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
  • Format: Virtual (Zoom/Teams)
  • Pre-registration required
