Welcome to the most magical place at camp! This camp is perfect for all Disney, Marvel and Star Wars enthusiasts. Campers will spend the week playing games, making art, and cooking recipes from all the best Disney movies—classic to current!
Gymnastics
Ages 5-12 | SEARCH CODE: CPGYM28 FIND SESSIONS
A camp you’ll flip over! Watch your child grow in confidence as they learn new skills on the floor, bars, beam and vault. Campers will be put in smaller groups of up to 10 kids based on age and ability to practice their gymnastics skills every week. Each day, our gymnasts will spend 2 and a half hours of gymnastics time while also doing arts, crafts and games. This fun camp will finish with an exciting camper performance on Friday.
LEGO CODING

Explore the world-class robotics challenge. Students will build a cutting-edge LEGO Spike Prime robot and control its movements with motors and sensors. Get your robot to do your bidding as you control its movements with drag and drop programming. With guidance from our experienced instructors, they’ll tackle fun challenges that promote critical thinking and problem-solving. Campers will work in teams, fostering collaboration and communication skills as they brainstorm ideas, share tasks and celebrate their successes together. Students will utilize the 4C skills – communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity.
ROOKIE SPORTS

LIT Fieldwork offers teens who’ve completed our LIT training course a chance to apply their leadership skills in real camp settings. Please Note: Dale Holmes Racing provides all bikes and equipment, and campers must know how to ride a bike. Long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and closed-toe shoes are required for riding, but campers can bring shorts for after-ride activities. No prior BMX skills are needed—just a love for biking and learning!

Boogie Boarding & Sandcastles | Ages 7-12

Soak up the sun, ride the waves, and get creative in the sand! At our Boogie Boarding & Sandcastles Camp, campers can cruise the waves on their boogie boards, build awesome sandcastles, and hang out with friends on the beach. Campers can expect to be splashing in the surf, playing beach games, or enjoying the ocean breeze, each and every day.
PLEASE NOTE: Campers will do a daily swim check consisting of going under two waves and swimming from one Y staff to another. The Y has limited supply of boogie boards to loan and for campers to share. Campers will their own boogie boards are welcome to bring them daily or leave them at the Y for the week. Build, Test, Battle | Ages 8-12

Get your hard hats on and get ready to Build, Test, Battle! Campers will learn the Engineering Process to design, create prototypes and test their builds. They’ll explore the science behind creating an incredible catapult, focusing on tension and trajectory. After a safety lesson, campers will use real tools like saws, drills and sanders to build a life-size catapult that stands 2-3 feet tall. The excitement peaks at the end of the week when campers split into teams and launch a barrage of water balloons, putting their creations to the ultimate test. Watch as campers unleash their creativity, experiment and bring their ideas to life!

Equestrian Camp offers a hands-on introduction to horsemanship! Campers will learn to safely approach, lead, groom and bathe horses, identify horse anatomy and riding equipment and practice daily riding with one-on-one instruction. Safety skills, including how to fall properly, are also covered. Activities include exploring horse breeds, first aid, shoeing and types of feed, as well as learning about horse sports like polo, barrel racing, dressage, jumping and more. Futsal is a fast, action-packed variation of soccer played on a smaller court, allowing players to develop precise ball control, technical skill, agility and quick decision-making. Campers will travel to some of the best pier fishing spots in the county to try their hand at reeling in a big catch! We teach the fundamentals of fishing, such as how to put together the best line for the location and desired catch, how to safely handle a rod, and the little behaviors that will better your chances of catching a fish. Surf’s up! Come hang ten with us this summer, and get your feet wet in the world of surfing in a safe, supervised, fun environment with YMCA surf staff. Start the week off on the beach learning how to pop up on your board and read the ocean. We will investigate different sets, breaks and tides. Surfers will learn paddling techniques and ultimately how to drop into the wave with our experienced instructors, who will also teach about water safety and equipment care. Daily instruction will be based on the ability levels of our campers, who will average an hour per day in the water. Our young surfers will also participate in beach sports and games. In the event of inclement weather or ocean conditions (e.g. rip tides, stingrays), campers will participate in beach activities until water entry is safe.
PLEASE NOTE: Campers will do a daily swim check consisting of going under two waves and swimming from one Y staff to another. The Y has a limited supply of instructional surfboards to loan and for campers to share. Campers with their own surfboards are welcome to bring them daily or leave them at the Y for the week. Top Chef | Ages 8-12

Become a Top Chef in this new and exciting camp! Campers will create dishes from around the world while learning how to perform cooking methods such as proper cutting, boiling and pan-frying in a safe environment under the watchful eyes of experienced chefs.

Waterpalooza | Ages 8-13
DATES: June 16-20 | July 28 – August 1
Get ready to make a splash at Waterpalooza – the ultimate camp for water lovers! Campers will dive into fun at our onsite swimming pool and splash pad, play exciting water games, and cool off with awesome activities. Plus, they’ll travel to other Y pools to experience epic water slides and splash structures. Whether they’re swimming, splashing, or just soaking up the summer fun, every day at Waterpalooza is packed with refreshing adventures!

Woodworking | Ages 8-12
DATES: June 30 – July 3*
This camp takes woodworking to the next level! Campers will craft wooden bobblehead robots, creative string art, LEGO hanging racks, wooden cars, rockets, and boats. Using real saws and hammers, they’ll build two or three fun, hands-on projects that are sure to leave them grinning from ear to ear.

About Our Staff
Dan McKinney Family YMCA takes pride in hiring the best people to fill our camp staff. Each camp leader was hand-selected through an extensive hiring process to ensure the safest environment for everyone. Staff training includes CPR and First Aid certification, transportation safety, behavior management and bully prevention, child protection and abuse prevention, field trip and off-site safety procedures, risk management/prevention and more.
PAYING FOR CAMP
- Pay in full (includes a $60 non-refundable deposit).
- Place a $60 non-refundable deposit at the time of registration. Deposit discounts may apply based on membership type.
- Note: any day camps less than three days will have no deposit and will require to be paid in full at time of registration.
- For Summer sessions, balances will be due three weeks prior to the first day of camp.
- For school break camps, balance dues will be one week before the camp date.
- An active membership is required at the time of the program start date to receive the member pricing discount.
- Financial assistance is available through the Y’s ACCESS scholarship program or through third party payment support.
Deposits are non-refundable but can be immediately applied as a deposit for another camp if space is available or applied to an already existing camp balance within the same season. See our Refund/Voucher/Transfer Policies for more information.

ADAPTIVE CAMP
Our Adaptive Camp Program is a designed to support youth with behavioral and developmental needs as it adapts the camp experience to your child’s needs and abilities, allowing opportunities for all campers to learn new skills, form new friendships and create lifetime memories. Campers will participate in activities with our traditional and specialty camps based on their interests at a pace that works for them. Our smaller camper-to-staff ratio for Adaptive Camp supports positive inclusion and/or one-on-one support as needed. Space is limited.
PLEASE NOTE: Contact the Camp Director and/or Coordinator to initiate an enrollment request and help us prepare a great experience for your camper. We begin accepting enrollment requests on March 4, 2024 and strive to provide at least one week of camp to all interested families.
Camp Scholarships
Financial assistance is available to families who qualify. Applications are available at the service desk and online. Assistance is based on verified income and completed applications.
