Character Builders
Before and After School Child Care
Character Builders offers a dynamic before and after-school program that provides a safe and enriching environment for children. Before the school day begins, students engage in stimulating activities that promote social interaction and academic readiness. After school, the program continues with a range of activities, including homework help, sports, arts and crafts, and character development workshops. Character Builders fosters a sense of community and belonging, helping children build confidence, resilience and valuable life skills.

About our staff
All staff leaders are selected after a thorough interview and background check process and are cleared through the Community Care Licensing office of the State of California. Our staff has units in child development and a desire to be a great role model for your child and demonstrate YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
Registration Details
Prerequisites, registration dates and availability may vary by branch or site. Please check with your school site for specific registration requirements and program details.
REGISTRATION Fee
- $100 per child for Non-Members
- $90 per child for Legacy and Community Members
- $85 per child for Community Plus Members.
Please allow three business days for paperwork and tuition fees to be processed before child care services may begin. All fees are collected on the 1st of each month of service. Fees are paid by ATS (bank draft) or by credit/debit card and deducted monthly from your account.
A 10-day notice prior to the draft date is required for any changes or withdrawal from the program. If balances are not paid on time, your child may not participate in the program. Please refer to our registration start date list. We proudly accept CDA, CRS and Military Child Care assistance to cover program fees. Registration is first come, first served.
Fees for 2025-2026 School Year
Fees are paid monthly for the month of service. Fees include all minimum days. No make-up days will be allowed due to illness, vacation or holidays.
