Before & After School Rec Programs
The YMCA of San Diego County’s before- and after-school programs are license-exempt, recreational programs where students have the opportunity to engage in educational assistance, daily physical activities, STEM & literacy programming, along with building life skills & developing healthy relationships.
As a recreational program, the Y does not assume full responsibility for care of children and parents/guardians remain responsible for their child(ren). This means students may choose not to attend our program and/or leave the program at any time. To ensure safety, we ask that families communicate in advance if you are planning for your child to not attend or to leave on their own. If a student chooses to leave without prior notice, our staff will contact the parent/guardian to inform them. Students are welcome and encouraged to stay for the duration of the program until picked up by an authorized adult.

About our staff
All staff leaders are selected after a thorough interview and background check/ cleared fingerprint process. In addition they are First Aid/CPR certified. Our staff desire to be a great role model for your child and demonstrate YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Our staff are trained to develop program curriculum geared towards student interests and community well-being; providing each day with something new and engaging. Staff follow positive behavior management and communication guidelines to support positive youth development.
Registration Details
Prerequisites, registration dates and availability may vary by branch or site. Please check with your school site for specific registration requirements and program details.
REGISTRATION Fee
- $100 per child for Non-Members
- $90 per child for Legacy and Community Members
- $85 per child for Community Plus Members.
Please allow three business days for paperwork and tuition fees to be processed before child care services may begin. All fees are collected on the 1st of each month of service. Fees are paid by ATS (bank draft) or by credit/debit card and deducted monthly from your account.
A 10-day notice prior to the draft date is required for any changes or withdrawal from the program. If balances are not paid on time, your child may not participate in the program. Sacred Heart Parish
This After School Program is available only for students from Sacred Heart Parish in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) to Grade 8.
The program operates each day school is in session for 3.5 hours on regular school days and 5 hours on minimum days. Daily homework assistance is provided. Students must be enrolled in the program in order to attend. The program is offered Monday-Friday, afternoons only. We are not open on days when school is not in session.
