Adventure Clubs
At Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA
Get ready for unforgettable weekends with your child! Adventure Clubs offer monthly parent-child camping experiences at some of the most scenic spots in Southern California — from beaches and deserts to mountains and lakes. Open to families with kids of various ages (see age groups below), each trip is packed with outdoor fun like hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, pinewood derby races, skits, songs, crafts, bead trading and more.
Adventure Clubs run from September through June (with a break in December), and you’re welcome to join at any time during the season.
This program is all about strengthening the parent-child bond while building lifelong friendships and lasting memories.
Each club includes a mix of activities like games, crafts, songs, stories, ceremonies and service projects — all designed to bring families closer together in a fun, supportive environment you won’t find anywhere else.
Registration for the Fall 2025 campouts is now open.

SCHOLARSHIPS
As a mission-driven nonprofit organization, the YMCA is committed to serving our community. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive, which is why we provide financial aid through our ACCESS scholarship program. The scholarship reduces the cost of membership fees, program fees and child care services offered by the YMCA of San Diego County.
dream catcher scholarship
The Dream Catcher Scholarship is exclusively available to Ecke Adventure Club families to help ensure that no child misses out on the magic of camping due to financial hardship. If your family needs support to attend an upcoming campout, we’re here for you.
To learn more about the Dream Catcher scholarship, please reach out to Tim Stong at tstong@ymcasd.org.
