Respite program
Support for caregivers of individuals with disabilities or special needs
WHO WE SUPPORT
Our program supports parents, caregivers, and their dependents, including children, adults, and non-family individuals receiving care. This no‑cost program is available to clients who have a developmental disability and are eligible for care through the San Diego Regional Center.
We proudly serve individuals from age 3 through adulthood, including our oldest current client, who is over 70 years old.
What We Offer
The YMCA Respite Program aims to give caregivers meaningful relief so they can rest, regroup, and maintain their own well‑being while their loved ones receive attentive support. Its core features include short‑term relief that fits each family’s schedule, supportive trained professionals, and compassionate care designed to offer peace of mind.
The program helps caregivers prevent burnout, maintain their health and energy, and return refreshed and ready to continue providing care. Ultimately, it ensures families have a trusted partner who supports them every step of the way.
