About the YMCA of San Diego County

The YMCA of San Diego County is a nonprofit with a mission to nurture a healthy spirit, mind, and body so all can thrive while honoring our faith-based heritage. The YMCA of San Diego County is the largest YMCA association in the nation, serving nearly 400,000 San Diego County residents and employing more than 4,500 people.

Through a variety of programs and services focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y unites men, women and children — regardless of age, income or background — to nurture the potential of children and teens, improve the nation’s health and well-being, and provide opportunities to give back and support neighbors.

As the nation’s leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community, the Y believes strong communities are possible only when we invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. To bring about meaningful change, individuals need ongoing support, encouragement and connections to others — all of which the Y provides in abundance.

TEAM VALUES

BELONGING

We enthusiastically embrace the full potential of each individual and welcome all to contribute and integrate their true selves to achieve our mission and values.

AUTHENTICITY

We create a brave team that consistently values, encourages, and models authentic behaviors such as vulnerability, positivity, inclusion, self-awareness, transparency, respect and trust.

INTEGRITY

We have an unwavering commitment to do what is right. We collaborate to pursue the truth while not allowing personal beliefs, views, or objectives to influence our intended culture. Everyone has a crucial role in ensuring the Y stays true to its mission, keeps its promises, acts ethically and inspires trust.

INNOVATION

We empower individuals to think BIG, accept smart risks, and engage in lifelong learning and development. Our adaptability and openness to change results in a relevant, thriving Y.
