As part of the YMCA of the USA World Service Campaign, we recognize our responsibility as part of a global movement. The YMCA of San Diego County is active in the international community, working with partner Ys in other countries to promote long-term, sustainable development. Partnerships are developed based on the mutual interests of both Ys and include activities like trips for relief or development, youth exchange, service learning and cross-cultural education. Our current partners are listed below. Mexico – Strategic planning, technical assistance, population engagement, fundraising development, camp counselor exchanges and service projects. Brazil – The International Youth Program includes service exchange, leadership skills, and curriculum to foster cross-cultural global learning. South Africa – Educational and cultural exchanges, community service projects. These efforts are carried out thoughtfully to enhance our mission in San Diego County and we strive for mutual growth, learning, and benefit of all involved.
