Y Community Plus members with family memberships have unlimited access to Child Watch services at 12 YMCA branch locations across San Diego County. With easy reservations through the YMCA app, you can focus on your fitness or unwind at the Y while your children play under the supervision of highly trained YMCA staff. Not yet a Y Community Plus member? Current Y members can upgrade to the Y Community Plus membership plan by stopping by any location. Restorative Yoga & Sound Healing
Fridays at 3:15pm
Sound healing meditation provides a safe, supportive space, allowing you to reach a deep state of relaxation while singing bowls and other sound instruments are played. Please bring a yoga mat and water. For additional comfort you may bring a pillow, blanket bolster and eye cover. All levels are welcome to join us for slow flow yoga followed by sound healing meditation. This class works to support our physical, metal and emotional well-being, leaving everyone feeling balanced and refreshed.

InBody body-composition assessments are available by appointment. Now you can leave the guessing behind and know exactly what is inside your body!
Pre/Post Knee & Hip Rehab Classes
Led by certified aquatic personal trainers, this class is designed for those who are planning to or have undergone knee or hip replacements. Prepare your body or continue to improve strength and mobility following discharge from a clinical physical therapy setting. Monthly sessions. Register today!
Livestrong at the Y
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a 12-week physical activity program designed to get cancer survivors back on their feet through an approach that focuses on the whole person – mind and body. Gravity Training
The GRAVITY Training System has a rolling glide board, various resistance levels and a dynamic cable pulley system that allow you to use your own body weight against the pull of gravity. With more than 250 exercise options, a GRAVITY workout is never boring and is always efficient. Engage all major muscle groups for strength and endurance training, stretching, Pilates, and core training. We offer a variety of class types, including Pilates, Core, Healthy Joint, Total-Body Workout (TBW) and more. Register for upcoming classes.
NEW GRAVITY FORMATS:
- Pilates by GRAVITY: A blend of traditional Pilates reformer and mat exercises designed to fit various fitness levels. Participants will use specific Pilates accessories to improve strength and flexibility.
- Fusion by GRAVITY: Combine total body conditioning with specific exercises to improve balance, joint function and body awareness. Significant focus on correct muscle function and core awareness is emphasized throughout the workout.
- Total Body by GRAVITY: Comprehensive full-body strength workout to condition cardiovascular, muscular fitness and to enhance flexibility. Strengthen and condition your entire muscular system with a 45-minute workout on the Total Gym machine.

Pickleball
Pickleball is a paddle sport (similar to racquetball) that combines elements of badminton, tennis, volleyball and table tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a Wiffle ball, over a net. This exciting, engaging game can be played with 2-4 players and is available to play at the YMCA!!
NEW! OUTDOOR COURTS
Let’s take it outside! Come check out our outdoor pickleball net at the Welcome Center (ID required) and enjoy playing pickleball outdoors. Y members are responsible for setup and take down. Outdoor open play is on Sunday at 2:00pm. Full schedule is available on the pickleball page.
OPEN PLAY
We’re playing pickleball seven days a week on three indoor courts in the gymnasium. Please be mindful of the schedule as we are subject to monthly changes. View our gymnasium schedule here..
TOURNAMENTS
Put your pickleball skills to the test with some friendly competition at one of our pickleball tournaments! Tournaments are for ages 18 and up, and various tournaments are for specific age groups, all over 18. Register today!

LESSONS, CLINICS & WORKSHOPS
Mission Valley YMCA is offering pickleball lesson packages and skill clinics! Lessons are available to take your game to the next level and clinics are back to get you into the swing of the game. Beginner clinics highlight court setup and equipment needs, basic stroke skills, basic rules and scoring. Intermediate clinics cover tips for a more consistent serve and return, point strategy and dink shots. Equipment will be provided. Swim Lessons for Teens and Adults!
Group and private swim lessons are available for teens and adults, ages 18 and up! Whether you are looking to improve your stroke technique, increase your stamina or get ready for Masters Swim, swim lessons are available for you to take your skills to the next level! Celebrate your birthday in style at the Mission Valley YMCA. Each party is packed with a fun and unforgettable day tailored just for your child! We look forward to helping you celebrate your party at the Y! Packages will include a two hour party, complete with exclusive playground access for endless fun. Reservation includes space for 20 participants ($5 per additional child). Celebration comes with a gift bag fill of Y swag for the birthday person, tables and chairs for convenience and a block rocker for lively party music. PARENTS NIGHT OUT

Youth Dance
Dancing is an expression of joy, creativity, talent, and confidence. It’s a healthy activity that brings happiness to all participants, especially children. Cheer Academy
Starting January 9, 2025 | Thursdays, 5:30-6:30pm
Boost your child’s confidence and energy! Kids ages 6-12 will master cheer fundamentals, learn exciting routines, and practice dynamic movements—all while building teamwork and making new friends. Guided by enthusiastic instructors, this program emphasizes fun, fitness and personal growth. At the end of each month, participants will proudly showcase their newfound skills!

Skate Park
The Mission Valley YMCA Krause Family Skate and Bike Park has a street course, BMX course, concrete bowl, vert ramp and the nation’s only skatercross course and is open with daily skate/bike sessions. The park is an all-wheel (non-motorized) facility, so bring your bikes, blades, skateboards and/or scooters for a great time! Learn more.
Private Lessons: Individual instruction will help your skateboarder, BMX-er, roller skater or scooter-ist achieve specific goals and get to the next level. Lessons begin monthly and are 30 minutes, one day a week for the first four weeks. – Register today!
Group lessons: Our group skate lessons are available to help improve your skills! Lessons are on the first four Wednesdays from 4:00- 5:00pm. – Register today!
Celebrate your birthday at the skate park in Clairemont. You have the option to rent out the entire park to yourselves or join us during public hours. We recommend private parties to people new to the skate park and bigger parties because the birthday party includes a half hour of group instruction, staff lead games and private access to our airbag. Our public option birthdays are for up to 15 people and they have access to our ramps as well as skateboards, bikes, scooters, safety equipment and helmets. – Reserve your party today!

ESports
Esports are video game competitions for individuals and teams of children ages 7–17. YMCA esports encourage healthy kids, families and communities by placing a priority on involvement and healthy competition, the value of participation over winning, team-building as well as individual development, a positive self-image and mutual respect for others. Digital Studio
Here at the Mission Valley YMCA Digital Studio, we have a time set aside for your child to enjoy our studio for free play and use of our equipment. This is our open space time which is welcome to our Community Plus members ages 13 to 17 and for our Play Pass Members ages 8-17!

- Swim teams: Learn more about swim teams. YMCA swim teams offer a fun and challenging environment for youth swimmers who can already demonstrate the basic skills and are ready to take those skills to the next level!
- Masters swim: Learn more about Masters swim. The YMCA Masters Swim program is a structured lap swim workout designed to help avid swimmers of various skill levels improve their stroke form, ability, endurance and stamina.
- Swim lessons: Sign up for swim lessons! Enhance your swimming skills and techniques through group or private lessons. Swim lessons are offered for adults, children and parents with preschool-aged children.

- Pickleball Injury Prevention Workshop | Wednesday, February 26 | 3:15-4:30pm — Is your body ready to play pickleball? Learn how to do a proper prewarm up routine, to take preventive measures to reduce your risk from injury, and strengthen your body and learn recovery techniques. This workshop will entail: strength room education, and on court playing time. Workshop lead by: Cara Beltran: Personal Trainer, USPTA certified instructor / Barb Madsen: Personal Trainer. - Nonmembers: $53 (members can save up to 25% off with select Y plans)
- Basic Fitness Equipment Workshop | Friday, February 28 | 2:15-3:45pm —Unfamiliar with stretching, cardio equipment and/or the Y Express equipment? If you are 50+ and want to increase strength and mobility, improve your cardiovascular health or improve your balance, this workshop is for you! Barb/Erika will lead a small group on two 1.5 hour workshops to show you how to warm up, stretch, and properly use and set up the equipment to start working out. A free InBody Scan is included! - Watercolor Workshop | Thursday, March 27 | 1:00-3:00pm — Learn basic watercolor techniques from a volunteer team of artists from the San Diego Watercolor Society (SDWS). Men's Perspective Group
Y MEMBERS | MEN AGES 18+
Join us for Men’s Perspective Group – a new well-being initiative to bring men together for healthy discussion on how to be the best version of themselves. Be a person of mental, physical and spiritual wellness, learn how to balance life situations, family and employment responsibilities, develop a personal life goal, grow in self-mastery and sound character and be the person people want to be around.
