Healthy Living at Any Age
Age is only a number — especially when you stay active and engaged. Physical and mental fitness, along with social interaction, are key to a healthy and vibrant life for older adults. Staying active and involved can work wonders in every part of your life, no matter how old you are.
Our YMCA Active Adult (YAA) programming brings together active-agers in mind, body and spirit with an all-encompassing approach that promotes physical, mental and social well-being. Whether you’re looking to get moving with regular exercise, meet new people, inject some energy into your social life or get involved in the community, the Y offers an ideal setting to connect, get strong and belong.

Livestrong at the Y
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is fully funded by donors to engage cancer survivors through an approach that focuses on the whole person — mind and body. Through this program, participants work with trained Y staff to improve cardiovascular endurance and functional ability, build muscle mass and strength, and increase flexibility. The program also supports the mental and emotional well-being of survivors and their families. With a focus on health, rather than the disease, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA has helped over 35,000 cancer survivors in 40 states move beyond illness to reclaim their wellness in both spirit, mind and body.
